Day 1!

After one or two days of traveling, all 7 of us have made it without any trouble! Three of us connected through Ethiopia, three connected through Johannesburg, and one connect through Qatar! For the first week, we are staying at an eco lodge in Bluff, a town right beside Durban. We split 3 cozy log cabins. This is my first time sleeping in a top bunk! As you can see, there are a lot of recycled tires, everything in this eco lodge is recycled. This place temporarily houses over 100 other people. The eco lodge also has a day care, a pool, a church, and much more. There are also monkeys! About 60 of them. The residents think they're pesky though because if you leave your window open, they'll come right into your room and steal your food. Right down the street from us is a mall, where we picked up groceries to make pasta and salad. It was amazing even though the pasta sauce came in a bag haha! The sun sets around 5pm and by 7pm it is COMPLETELY dark. The sun rises around 6:30am. So far, the people here have been so warm and friendly. Tomorrow we are going to the beach!
