The morning started with half-off breakfast at the cafe, and I finally got over my fear of egg yolk... kinda. After breakfast, I walked over to the day care to see who wanted to hang. Turns out that I walked in on nap time and the only people awake were two boys, who happened to be the sons of the owner of the daycare. They finished their homework, ate spaghetti, and were ready to play! With one red soccer ball and a 10 by 15 foot play ground, they managed to beat me in soccer, basketball, and football. After playing, the boys wanted to me to try their favorite juice. They picked up a bottle of what looks exactly like orange juice, poured maybe a teaspoon into my cup and told me to fill it with water until it was a "nice color." Turns out it was an orange juice concentrate! The older boy, Brandon, is apparently an expert who can just eyeball how much water to put in. Then, at around 2pm, Rodney, our bus driver, took us on a tour of Durban! We first stopped at the chancellor's office to meet him. He was one of the most wise and sincere people I have ever met. We also drove around to see where our home-stays and worksites were. None of us are more than a 10 minute drive away from each other. For dinner we went to "kaya beach," which is literally above the cafe, but the entire place is made to look like a beach. Sand was EVERYWHERE and none of the waiters wore shoes. We had a barbecue and later s'mores. Great day!!!!
